| The Bronx Charter School for Excellence prepares young people in New York City to compete for admission to and succeed in top public, private and parochial high schools by cultivating their intellectual, artistic, social, emotional and ethical development. The school employs a "back to basics" approach to education with subject-based teaching by teachers who have majored, minored or demonstrated expertise in the subjects. Staff are compensated based on performance. The school maintains a longer school day and year, requires uniforms and holds students to high standards of behavior. |
