Description:
Genesee Community Charter School at the Rochester Museum and Science Center provides a rich and active, yet fundamental, educational program in which intellectual growth and character development are considered mutually dependent and of equal importance. To achieve its goals, the school has a 185 day school year. It has partnered with the Rochester Museum and Science Center and employs the successful Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound education model. The core curriculum is drawn from the locally developed and national recognized Genesee River Valley Project, an interdisciplinary program with social studies, science, mathematics, literacy and language arts integrated through the study of local history.
