Final Notice – The following charter renewal has been approved by operation of law.

• Cypress Hills Ascend Charter School is located at 396 Grant Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11208 and is chartered to serve 459 students in grades K-5. The school sought a one-year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2023 to align its charter with other schools under the education. The school will expand to serve 522 students in grades K-6. The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal application on or about August 15, 2022; 2) approved the renewal on December 15, 2022; and 3) the renewal was approved by operation of law on or about May 4, 2023.

Final Notice – The following charter renewal has been approved by operation of law.

• Canarsie Ascend Charter School is located at 9719 Flatlands Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11236 and 744 East 87th St., Brooklyn, NY 11236  and is chartered to serve 992 students in grades K-8. The school sought a one year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2023 to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation. The school will serve 976 students in grades K-8. The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal application on or about August 15, 2022; 2) approved the renewal on December 15, 2022; and 3) the renewal was approved by operation of law on or about May 4, 2023.

• Bushwick Ascend Charter School is located at 751 Knickerbocker , Brooklyn, NY 11221 and 2 Aberdeen St., Brooklyn, NY 11207 and is chartered to serve 897 students in grades K-8. The school sought a one year renewal of the charter commencing July 1, 2023 to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation. The school will serve 872 students in grades K-8. The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal application on or about August 15, 2022; 2) approved the renewal on December 15, 2022; and 3) the renewal was approved by operation of law on or about May 4, 2023.

• Brooklyn Ascend Charter School is located at 205 Rockaway Pkwy, Brooklyn, NY 11212, 123 East 98th St., Brooklyn, NY 11212, and 1501 Pitkin Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11212  and is chartered to serve 1,511 students in grades K-12. The school sought a one year renewal of the charter commencing July 1, 2023 to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation. The school will serve 1,407 students in grades K-12.  The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal application on or about August 15, 2022; 2) approved the renewal on December 15, 2022; and 3) the renewal was approved by operation of law on or about May 4, 2023.

• Achievement First Crown Heights Charter School is located at 557 Pennsylvania , Brooklyn, NY 11203, 158 Richmond St., Brooklyn, NY 11208, and 35 Starr St. Brooklyn, NY 11221 and is chartered to serve 1,304 students in grades K-12. The school sought a two year renewal of the charter commencing July 1, 2023 to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation. The school will serve 1,434 students in grades K-12.  The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal application on or about August 15, 2022; 2) approved the renewal on December 15, 2022; and 3) the renewal was approved by operation of law on or about May 3, 2023.

• Achievement First Brownsville Charter School is located at 2021 Bergen , Brooklyn, NY 11233 and 301 Vermont St. Brooklyn, NY 11207 and is chartered to serve 1,304 students in grades K-12. The school sought a two year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2023 to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  The school will serve 1,184 students in grades K-12. The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal application on or about August 15, 2022; 2) approved the renewal on December 15, 2022; and 3) the renewal was approved by operation of law on or about May 3, 2023.

• Achievement First Aspire Charter School is located at 982 Hegeman , Brooklyn, NY 11208, 970 Vermont St., Brooklyn, NY 11207, and 600 Central Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11207 and is chartered to serve 944 students in grades K-9. The school sought a two year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2023 to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  The school will expand to serve 1,086 students in grades K-11.  The SUNY Trustees: 1) received the renewal application on or about August 15, 2022; 2) approved the renewal on December 15, 2022; and 3) the renewal was approved by operation of law on or about May 3, 2023.

First Notice – The SUNY Trustees have received the following renewal request:

Brooklyn Prospect Charter School, an education corporation operating more than one charter, seeks to renew its authority to operate Brooklyn Prospect Charter School – CSD 15.2.  The school is located at 341 39^th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11232 and 3002 Fort Hamilton Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11218 in CSD 15 and 19 40 Flatbush Avenue Ext., Brooklyn, NY 11201 in CSD 13, and is chartered to serve 1,210 students in grades K-3 and 6-12 for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. The school seeks a two year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024 to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation. According to the renewal application, the school will grow to serve 1,403 students in grades K-12.

Brooklyn Prospect Charter School, an education corporation operating more than one charter, seeks to renew its authority to operate Brooklyn Prospect Charter School – CSD 15.  The school is located at 3002 Fort Hamilton Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11218 in Community School District 15 and is chartered to serve 55 students in kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year, the final year of the current charter term. SUNY is currently reviewing a revision request for the school to serve 25 students in grade 5 for the 2023-24 school year. The school seeks a two year renewal of the charter commencing August 1, 2024 to align its charter with other schools under the education corporation.  According to the renewal application, the school will grow to serve 200 students in grades K-3 and 5.
